The New York State Sprinkler System Notice Law ( Real Property Law 231-a) was signed and takes effect on December 3, 2014. Below is a copy of the text. The new law requires that, at the time a new residential lease or renewal is executed, there must be certain disclosures made regarding whether there is a sprinkler system in the leased premises.
