Marta Peralta, an employee of Century Management from 2000, has been honored as this year’s Humanitarian of the Year. Marta is a founding member of Children’s Happy Faces, a chapter of the Ronald McDonald House New York, an organization that is champion to finding cures for rare children cancers and housing families that cannot afford to do it all for themselves. It all started with an e-mail to her colleagues, trying to raise money . It caught her colleague and now good friend, David Lipson’s eye, Senior Mortgage Director at Century Management Services Inc. David attended a small party for the kids, hosted by Marta Peralta and Hilda Taveras ( also being honored) with the late Patrick Dunne, also a former employee of Century Management, and the two fell in love with the concept and the very humble and gracious children. Right after attending this party, Patrick came up with the idea to host a Holiday party for the children and to bring presents. This also went overwhelmingly well and Patrick and David discussed doing a golf outing with Richard Barry, then President of Century Management, and Mitchell Barry, current President and former CEO, who were both on board. The first outing was held in 2007 and Century Management has been the title sponsor ever since, even with additions in executive leadership; Century’s Vice President Jacob Sirotkin also loves the concept and ethics of this charity.
Century Management is proud to have a layered, sophisticated and compassionate employee like Marta Peralta. Marta has helped to raise over three million dollars for Children’s Happy Faces! Century Management is proud of her philanthropic efforts.
